Category selection is one of the most overlooked ASO decisions. Your primary category determines which Top Charts you can appear in, and some categories are 10x more competitive than others.

The Competition Density Strategy

Compare the number of apps in your potential categories. A fitness tracker could go in "Health & Fitness" (200K+ apps) or "Lifestyle" (150K+ apps). The smaller category gives you better odds of charting.
